Timeshares, or the purchase of a share of time for a specific thing that can be used for a period of time without reducing the value of said item, is a multi-billion dollar industry. Although timeshare started out as condominium units at various resorts (and were pioneered by ski resorts in the French Alps), today one may purchase timeshares of boats, plans, expensive cars and other goods also. Of course unless you are talking about diamond crusted edge protector units, certain things like stacking strength packaging or other custom packaging solutions are never considered for timeshare treatment as they are not something that can be used for a specific period of time and then released for a different party to use.

Ownership in a timeshare can be one of two models. Most follow that those who buy right for use do not actually possess ownership of the underlying thing, be it housing, transportation, or other similar thing. The amount of time bought in these cases is typically 1 to 2 weeks, locked in to a specific time frame each year. Occasionally timeshares are sold with the purchaser gaining limited equity rights also, but in these cases they end up paying extra fees to cover insurance and property taxes on top of the normal fees for the right of use. The previous model is by far the most common, as the majority of housing units used in this fashion are built on resort land by hoteliers who desire to retain the value of their investment while ensuring the units are not sitting empty.

The majority of the top resort developers, Starwood, Wyndham, Accor, Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and Disney among others, have taken to this concept to boost sales of resort housing units that are considered surplus secondary vacation properties. The same concept has boosted sales of luxury items like cars, planes, boats, and even fractional properties (which are more upscale units that can be shared by a few as 4 owners). The concept places these luxury items into the reach of the average person who would be unable to afford ownership in such a location. Often timeshares are marketed as an alternative to staying in a hotel at these resorts (which may or may appeal depending on the individual’s needs that the pitch is being made to).

For the affluent, a timeshare represents a way to make a limited investment for use of a specific time frame on an annual basis. These individuals may be edge protector barons who have developed their wealth through stacking strength packaging or online business selling custom packaging solutions or they might be movie stars. While these types of clients generally go for larger units or more expensive options, the fact that they do use timeshares means that the general public can take part in ownership of something that might be used buy someone wealthy and not even know it. The majority of timeshares world wide actually exist in the United States (around 30-33% of them), followed by European and Latin American units.

There are many reasons you should consider a timeshare. These include having a paid place to stay, a profitable asset, and you can always make your money back. Many people are buying timeshares today because of the big benefits included.

If you have moved to the states permanently and you plan on returning home once a year, you might consider a timeshare. It is common for people when their US immigration application forms to be approved; they purchase a timeshare back home. Your green card will allow you to travel back and forth to home each year without any problems. You might know this from your US citizenship exam. There are many other reasons to purchase a timeshare. You might have a destination somewhere in the world you love traveling to and you plan on going there every year. It can save you money in the long run by having a place to stay when you get there, especially if you travel with a big family.

Having a paid place to stay is one of the biggest reasons you might consider a timeshare. Many people vacation in the same place every year. It might seem like the prices continue to rise and it is difficult to be able to afford a vacation that continues to increase in price. Hotel rooms are uncomfortable and if you are traveling with a lot of people, they can be a real pain. A timeshare will be waiting for you the same week of every year. You will have access to stay in the vacation home and it will already be paid for. The next time you plan a trip, you won’t have to include the cost of a hotel room.

A profitable asset is another reason you might consider a timeshare. This is because with a timeshare, you might not even use it at all. However, you can rent your week out to other individuals. Some people offer their week to friends or family members at a price. This is a smart way to use the property if you are not going to stay. The great way you save money with a timeshare is because you don’t have to eat out while you are on vacation because they have kitchens, which allow you to prepare your own meals. Eating out is one of the biggest costs of a vacation. The money savings are substantial when you have a paid place to stay.

You can always get your money back when you buy a timeshare and decide you don’t want it anymore. Although, it will be yours forever, you can sell it to someone else. Many people sell their timeshares all of the time. It is perfectly okay to sell your week to someone else. The name can be transferred on the property and you will get your money back. You also will no longer be required to pay the yearly fees associated with the place. It will always be an asset and over time, the value of the timeshare will increase.

A timeshare isn’t for everyone. There are many factors you must consider when purchasing a timeshare to determine if it is right for you. These factors include the destination, the fees, the week and much more.

Purchasing a timeshare is a fantastic way of travel for many people. There are many benefits which include a guaranteed place to stay every year, an ownership of the location, and much more. Most people who purchase a timeshare love it if they are capable of using their timeshare.

If the week of the timeshare you have purchased is during the holidays then you must be sure you want to be gone from home every Christmas. If you will not use the timeshare every year you do have the capability to gift it to someone you know for that week. One thing you cannot do is change your week or your location when you buy a timeshare. If you enjoy staying at home decorating the artificial Christmas trees then you may not want to travel every year. However, you can decorate your own artificial Christmas trees in a timeshare and have Christmas there. Always pay attention to the designated week of the year you are purchasing a timeshare. If you are not sure what the week number is then get out a calendar and count out the weeks. That way, decorating the prelit Christmas trees will not become an issue.

When you purchase a timeshare in a destination you are confining yourself to one location. If you have found the destination of your dreams and you absolutely love it then a timeshare there is the best solution. However, if you purchase a timeshare to a place you think you might like then you could be in for a rude awakening. One of the best ways to avoid any problems is by visiting the destination first and maybe even looking at the timeshare before you make a purchase. This will help you avoid any mistakes with your choice of timeshare.

The fees of a timeshare can be outrageous. Not all timeshares have expensive fees. However, if you pay $10,000 for ownership of a timeshare you do own it for the week. If you have to pay $400 a year or even monthly fees then you need to determine if the timeshare is cost effective. You still have to pay for the plane tickets to get to the destination. Determine how much it would cost you to pay for a week in a hotel when you plan in advance each year. If the cost is cheaper than the maintenance fees and ownership fees then it may not be a cost effective approach to a guaranteed vacation each year.

For many people a timeshare is the way to go. It provides a guaranteed vacation each year. Before you purchase a timeshare it is best to determine if you are happy with the week each year you will be allowed to stay, the fees you will have to pay yearly, and if you will not get tired of vacationing to the same destination every year. Once you have ownership of a timeshare it may be hard to get rid of it.

Are you a traveler looking for real options when it comes to accommodations? There are many benefits to an Orlando timeshare:

1) The comforts of home. An Orlando timeshare comes with a kitchen area, so you can cook your own meals. This lets you enjoy home cooking while also saving money on your trip. An Orlando timeshare also usually had sleeping, living, and kitchen areas, so that you can enjoy games and a more comfortable atmosphere. Many travelers also find timeshares to be cozier and not as impersonal as hotels.

2) More space. An Orlando timeshare usually comes with at least a kitchen, bathroom, dining, kitchen, and living area. Some timeshares are actually quite roomy, but even the more modest ones will have more space than a standard hotel room, which often affords no privacy and no real living space. If you want more than just a place to sleep at night, an Orlando timeshare is an ideal solution.

3) Guaranteed accommodations. If you are traveling to Orlando, especially, overbooking is a problem. So many tourists arrive at Disney World in the summer months that overbooked hotel rooms can happen – even if you book far in advance. Many Orlando timeshares are flexible and allow you to book when you want. Once you book your timeshare, you can be sure that your room is ready for you when you want it – at no hidden extra charge.

4) Possible profits. When you book a hotel room, the money flows one way – right to the hotel’s coffers. When you invest in an Orlando timeshare, though, you could profit, depending on the timeshare you buy. Depending on your contract, you might be able to rent out your timeshare, sell it (perhaps at a profit) or lease it out. Potentially, you could be earning money that can go towards your next vacation.

5) The ability to take your time. If you book a hotel in Florida, you may only have a few days to explore the city. A few days barely allows you to look at Magic Kingdom, though. An Orlando timeshare lets you really discover Disney World and all the other Orlando attractions. An Orlando timeshare becomes you home away from home and one of the world’s most exciting vacation spots becomes your backyard.

6) Economy. One of the reasons many people invest in an Orlando timeshare in the first place is the savings. If you travel to Orlando for a week every year, your timeshare will soon more than pay for itself in saved hotel costs. Plus, depending on the timeshare you have, you might be able to sell it when you no longer use it. Potentially, this means that you can recoup the costs associated with your accommodations. An Orlando timeshare can save you money in other ways, as well. Most timeshares have kitchens, for example, so you may be able to save money on dining costs.

7) Proximity. You can choose an Orlando timeshare that puts you right where you want to be – downtown Orlando or steps from Disney World. Rather than being stuck at a hotel miles from the attractions that interest you, an Orlando timeshare can put you right in the heart of the action.

Do you want an Orlando timeshare? Maybe you have heard your friends and family talk about timeshares, but are not sure whether the same arrangement might be right for you? Well, wonder no more. Just ask yourself:

1. Do you get frustrated by the cost of hotels? If a large part of your travel budget each year is spent on hotels, you could be cutting your vacations short. While many travelers can now find great discounts on plane fare and other travel costs, the cost of hotels continues to creep upwards. If this cost has you taking shorter vacations, an Orlando timeshare might be right for you. An Orlando timeshare is less expensive on repeat trips than a hotel, and the money you save can mean a better or longer vacation.

2. Do you have a hard time booking hotels you want? If you want to travel to Orlando, you may find you have a hard time booking your preferred hotels, simply because so many other visitors want to travel to the same place. When you have an Orlando timeshare, your accommodations are assured.

3. Do you have special needs when traveling? If you need a hypoallergenic room, extra room, or some other special need, getting this level of service can be hard with standard hotels. With an Orlando timeshare, you only need to find your ideal Orlando timeshare – and then you can enjoy the same special services every time you travel.

4. Do you have children? Most children want to see Disney World at least once, and most children want to return again and again. An Orlando timeshare lets you and your family really enjoy all that Orlando has to offer on every vacation – for less.

5. Do you travel every year? If you travel each year, hotel costs can really add up and the amount of time you spend looking for good accommodations can really add up. With an Orlando timeshare, you always know you have an accommodation you can use or exchange for another resort experience.

6. Do you want to really get to know a place? Orlando has so much to offer that it can take several visits to absorb everything. An Orlando timeshare lets you return again and again without costing you a fortune. And once you have explored Orlando all you like, you can sell your timeshare or swap it in order to explore a new place.

7. Are you retirement age or nearing retirement? Many seniors love Orlando for its warm climate and vibrant attractions. An Orlando timeshare lets you escape winter while still not cutting into your budget.

8. Do you hate surprises when traveling? Higher than expected hotel costs, overbooked hotels, hotel rooms that are smaller or more unsanitary than expected – there are many hotel surprises that can literally ruin your vacation. With an Orlando timeshare, you know exactly what to expect because you return to the same place each year – and your timeshare is always waiting for you.
